E-Cat cold fusion machine in doubt.
Not surprisingly, the E-Cat machine - apparently capable of solving the world’s energy problems - has come under scrutiny for being a fraud. I had detailed the machine earlier, here.
The new debate started after inventor Andrea Rossi asked Australian electronics mogul Dick Smith for a $200,000 investment. Smith, who is a member of the Australian Skeptics Society, asked an engineer to verify the workings of the machine. The engineer discovered that the machine had a misconnected Earth lead, which could have been diverting energy into the machine. In all previous tests, only the active power leads had been monitored, and the Earth wire had not been checked.
The inventor has stuck by the machine, saying “the E-Cat will be on the market soon, and “the skeptics will be free to buy them and make all the tests they want.”
